DO YOU PROVIDE CONSULTATIONS?

Currently we do not do in person consultations. I like to have a fresh outlook on your brows or eyes to give my best artistic ability day of procedure. (Disclosure: If you have had Permantent makeup done elsewhere we WILL need to be sent a clear picture of the existing work and get the approval from Julie to take you on as a client.)

PATCH TESTING

This would need to be separate from your appointment with me. A very small amount of ink would be distributed behind your ear. There after you would go home and let us know if you have any irritation over the next 24 hours. PATCH TESING is $50 and goes towards a future appointment if no irritation appears.

DO YOU HAVE TO SHAVE THE BROWS OFF?

Hell no! We want to keep as much hair as possible : )

WILL I STILL NEED TO WAX THE HAIR?

Yes you will still need to get regular waxes or you can use the small razor i will be using on your brows to shape up yourself.

DOES GETTING PERMANENT MAKEUP HURT?

95% Are cool as a cucumber when they are receiving Permanent makeup. The numbing cream is a dream and most can only feel slight vibration and pressure. If you feel like you are uncomfortable I can also numb after the skin is opened for a second round of numbing. (Side note: i have had several fall asleep during the procedure, most even feel it is relaxing. So please do not worry about the pain.

WORK OUT CLIENTS

*Must be willing to not workout for 5 days after procedure and not sweat for that time frame as well. * Salt is an a natural way to lift and remove pigment. Sweating before the ink has a chance to solidify in the skin can result in poor retention. Please take in to consideration when booking.

WHAT IF I CHOOSE TO NOT DO PERMANENT MAKEUP AGAIN?

Let’s say you are worried about wearing them long term. What if you don’t want to get retouches for life? No worries the pigment is designed to fade gradually off of the skin. I use the highest quality ink in my industry. This is tried and test to be the most ideal pigment for your face. Only the best for my people!!! : )

ALL ABOUT THE SYMMETRY

While we strive to create the optimal symmetry, perfection does not exist. In fact when we create your brow we may have to take some off of the top of one brow and add to the bottom of the other. Our goal is to make small corrections so that we can build on this. Going off of your natural bone structure is always recommended.

PROCESS / WHAT TO EXPECT DAY OF:

The day of the procedure you will come in to my office and we will start the numbing process. This includes cleaning the skin along with applying a small amount of lidocaine to the treated area. At this time you will fill out all necessary paper work. Numbing takes 10-20 minutes, this does not completely make it to where you cant feel anything, but it takes the edge off and keeps you comfortable. We will start by taking before pictures, drawing on and letting you approve your shape. You can let me know if you would like to make any changes at that time. Then we will show you the color that is suggested by diagnosing your skin type and your desired target color when healed. When going over the details I will always suggest something that is NATURAL for you. If we can not come to an agreement that is conservative I will NOT do the procedure. I want to make sure what you are choosing is right for you!

  • The whole procedure takes about an hour and 15 minutes. This includes walking in the door/paper work & procedure. The actual act of doing the brow treatment is only about 15- 30 minutes.

HEALING INFORMTION

Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. This is the purpose of the touch-up visit. After an hour from your procedure, use the provided Aloe Vera packto wipe the affected area. For infection prevention be careful to NOT touch the treated area other than directed for the first 24 hours.

Long term care

Use a good sunscreen after 10 days, sun exposure will fade your permanent cosmetics

If you are planning a chemical peel, laser procedure or an MRI scan, please inform the technician/your care provider of your permanent cosmetics.

The use of RetinA/Tretinoin, chemical peels and acid peels or any other rapid skin exfoliation products used on the forehead area will cause the permanent makeup of the eyebrow area to fade prematurely.

 Approximate Daily Healing Schedule:

1-2 Your brows are approximately 20-40% darker, bolder and more solid than your healed result. Under the pigment, the skin is red and pigment has been deposited into the layer of skin containing dead skin cells; combined giving the appearance of darker color. There may be minimal swelling but because typically the eyebrow area does not retain much fluid, swelling will be limited. The top layers of skin will begin to shed on about day 5-7 days, and you will see a loss of color. This is normal. Do not scratch/ pick! Redness is normal!!!!!!

3-4 Your eyebrows may begin to itch and the pigment may appear somewhat raised. Do not scratch/ pick!

5-7 The skin is now rapidly exfoliating and will shed naturally if left alone. The color under the exfoliating skin will start to appear very light or not visible. Day by day it will start to appear darker. Please be patient and give the color a couple of weeks to become darker. For visual examples of what this can look like, visit Jewels Artistry on instagram. This will be located on the highlight real at the top under healing.

30-40 Now is the time to critique your brows, the tattoo has now become part of the dermis, seen under the epidermis. At this time you can choose to change anything you desire about your brows. Including changing the procedure to something that better fits your skin type. Bolder, darker, add more strokes? The possibilities are endless.

Julie may give different after care instructions depending on your skin type. She will specify at your procedure which routine she would like you to follow.

Retouches are highly encouraged to ensure the tattoo has healed properly. This is recommended no sooner than 8 weeks but not limited to that time frame.

Once you leave the chair and all items are disposed of we will NOT revisit the treated area until retouch time. It is not advised to over analyze your permanent cosmetics until healed. We understand this is a change to your face and to give the tattoo time to heal. If you are going from my advice given for treatment your results will always be natural and never harsh.

You must understand this is just how your skin heals. The skin on your face is much different than any other place on the body. Most clients with dry skin will only experience light flaking while oily clients experience excessive shedding. This is text book of how your skin heals but everyone is different and will experience different days that will stuff of skin.

When the ink is healing it is in the subcutaneous layer of the skin. This is not visible yet to the dermis. Some people will see a slight pink color where there ink was. This is very important to not pick the scab as your skin is still healing. If you take the scab off prematurely it can take the ink with it. Cell turn over takes 4-6 weeks to take place. This is what makes the ink visible on the epidermal layer. In the process of healing your tattoo may appear patchy if you desire you can apply a very light layer of loose powder. Not pencil!! This is something that will help with the transition of healing while your ink is making its way up through the skin. Please be patient with the healing and know that each individual heals different. Oily clients will heal much softer and more powdery because of your skin type.
